Films and Series for the Reader of Early and Golden Age Mysteries

• You Tube - You Tube can be the source of some very interesting material. Just search for the name of an author or title of a book. You may find early tv series and radio broadcasts.
• Wilkie Collins Mysteries The Woman in White and The Moonstone are both streaming on Brit Box
  
  
• The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher - The first Mr. Whicher episode was based on the real-life Constance Kent murder case of 1860. Mr. Whicher was a real police detective. The other 3 episodes are fiction. This is streaming on BritBox. For more on this series of four broadcasts see Wikipedia.
  
  
• Sherlock Holmes - There is a Sherlock Holmes series starring Jeremy Brett streaming on Brit Box. There are many modern spin off shows featuring Sherlock Holmes which should be avoided.
  
  
• The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes - This series has many of the early detectives. It is streaming on PBS
  
  
• G. K. Chesterton - The Father Brown Mysteries are streaming on Brit Box.
  
  
• Agatha Christie Mystery series and movies - This list will keep you streaming for days and days.
  
  
• Ngaio Marsh - The Albert Campion mysteries starring Peter Davidson are streaming on Brit Box
  
  
• Georges Simenon - Two versions of the Maigret mysteries are streaming on Brit Box.

• BritBox - This steaming service from BBC and ITV has a wealth of British mystery shows.
